In Bangkok the real variables are how many hours a day it runs and how dirty the outside air is.

ตารางที่เราใช้จริงThe schedule we use

• เปิดวันละ 4–6 ชม. (ห้องนอนอย่างเดียว) — ล้างใหญ่ปีละครั้ง ล้างแผ่นกรองเองทุก 2 เดือน4–6 hours a day (bedroom only) — full service once a year, filters washed at home every two months
• เปิดวันละ 8–12 ชม. (ทำงานที่บ้าน) — ล้างใหญ่ทุก 6 เดือน ล้างแผ่นกรองเองทุกเดือน8–12 hours a day (working from home) — full service every six months, filters monthly
• เปิดเกือบตลอดเวลา หรืออยู่ติดถนนใหญ่ / ไซต์ก่อสร้าง — ล้างใหญ่ทุก 4 เดือนAlmost always on, or beside a main road or building site — full service every four months
• มีสัตว์เลี้ยงมีขน — ลดระยะลงหนึ่งขั้นจากด้านบน ขนสัตว์อุดแผ่นกรองเร็วกว่าฝุ่นมากFurry pets — move one step up the list; hair blocks filters far faster than dust

สัญญาณว่าถึงเวลาแล้ว ไม่ต้องรอครบกำหนดSigns it is due, whatever the calendar says

จุดดำคือเชื้อรา ไม่ใช่ฝุ่น ถ้าเห็นแล้วอย่ารอThose black speckles are mould, not dust. Do not wait on that one.

ทำเองได้แค่ไหนWhat you can do yourself

แผ่นกรอง ทำเองได้และควรทำ ปิดเบรกเกอร์ ถอดออกมาล้างน้ำเปล่า ผึ่งให้แห้งสนิทก่อนใส่กลับ ห้ามใส่ทั้งที่ยังหมาด เพราะจะกลายเป็นแหล่งเชื้อราทันทีFilters — yes, and you should. Switch off at the breaker, rinse them in plain water and dry them completely before refitting. Putting a damp filter back creates the very mould you were removing.
